Among “Massive Attack” and “WILD BUNCH”, Rob Smith (Smith & Mighty)’s project 《RSD》reigns the place of world’s music dispatch as UK music, “Bristol Music”!! In the early 80’s, RSD a.k.a ROB SMITH started off as RESTRICTION in the reggae band. Later, together with Ray Mighty, he began his music career as “Smith&Mighty” who became reigning over the “Bristol Music”. The media started paying great attention among “Massive Attack” when “Anyone”, which interpreted classic of Bacharach as Bristol style, became “huge-hit”. After making a contract with the major record company “London Records”, he established his own label company More Rockers Records. Since then, he released three masterpieces, “Bass is Maternal”, “Big World, Small World”, and “Life is…”. In 2003, the first best album “From Bass to Vibration” was released. In Feb. 2004, Rob released new album “Selection 3 - Tried and Tested” from Drum & Bass unitMore Rockers with Peter D , who was attending the first era with Massive Attack. In 2003, Rob released his first solo album「Up On The Downs」. Then many excellent masterpieces were released from the name of Dubstep “RSD” which can be mentioned as an “evolving” “Smith & Mighty”. In 2009, “Smith & Mighty” released “Good Energy” from Bristol’s “Punch Dunk Record” which became the first memorial album from such. In 2009, “Smith & Mighty” came to《METAMORPHOSE'09》in Japan. The present tense of Bristol Music boiled many grounds of Japan. Moreover,in 2011, “Smith & Mighty” released【GO IN A GOODWAY】 from “ZETTAI-MU”. Because of the great earthquake in the same year of the March, “Smith & Mighty” live was cancelled. However, “Smith & Mighty” appeared in “WE PRAY FOR JAPAN” by DOMMUNE in haste and empowered/encouraged Japan by music. “Smith & Mighty” is the legend of the present tense of the world wide scene as the top creator/ the top DJ for reggae, Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Jungle music.

Massive AttackやWILD BUNCHと共に、UKミュージック、世界の音楽の発信地"ブリストル・ミュージック"の代表格として君臨するRob Smith（Smith & Mighty）によるダブステップ・プロジェクト《RSD》！！
80年代前半より、レゲエバンドのレストリクションで活動を開始。その後、レイ・マイティと共に、ブリストル・ミュージックの代表格として君臨するスミス&マイティとしての活動を始める。バカラックの古典をブリストル流に解釈した「エニィワン」の大ヒットによって、マッシヴ・アタックと並ぶブリストルの顔としてメディアに大々的に取り上げられるようになる。メジャーのロンドン・レコーズと契約した 後、自らのレーベル、モア・ロッカーズ・レコーズを設立。これまでに「ベース・イズ・マターナル」「ビッグ・ワールド・スモール・ワールド」「ライ フ・イズ ...」の3枚を残している。2003年には初のベストアルバム「フロム・ベース・トゥ・ヴァイブレーショ
ン」を発表。また、ロブは、初期のマッシヴ・ア タックにも参加していたピーターDとのドラムンベース・ユニット“モア・ロッカーズ”での活動も精力的に行っており、2004年2月には最新アルバム「セレクション3-トライド・アンド・テスティド」をリリース。2003年には初のソロアルバム「アップ・オン・ザ・ダウンズ」を発表。その後、スミス＆マイティの進化版とも言えるダブステップ名義"RSD"として数々の秀作をリリース。09'年には、ブリストルのパンチ・ドランク・レコードの記念すべき１枚目のアルバムとして「グッドエナジー」をリリースする。
2009年スミス&マイティーとして《METAMORPHOSE'09》に来日。現在進行形のブリストル・ミュージックで多くの日本のクラウドを沸かせた。そして、2011年には、ZETTAI-MUよりニューアルバム【GO IN A GOODWAY】をリリース、同年３月の『SMITH&MIGHTY』公演は震災の影響により中止になったが、急遽 DOMMUNEによる「WE PRAY FOR JAPAN」に出演、日本中を音楽の力で勇気づけた。

発、世界中に広がるこのシーンの進行形の伝説だ。

Making full use of 11 faces and 1000 arms, he upholds the revolutionary flag with the ultimate heavy weight dub beats from
Japanese underground. He has been appearing since the dawn of Japanese underground with the rhythm of opening and upper-beat appearance,vibrating super heavy bass throughout the body and making people dance crazily with beast-like dub effect. (including JUNGLE、D'N'B、DUB MUSIC、ABSTRACT、DUB STEP). As a headliner, he appeared in big festivals inside/out, (starting from) RAINBOW 2000, FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, Asagiri Jam, METAMORPHOSE、EARTH DANCE, NAGISA Music Festival, HAPPARS ALL STARS,
and etc…As one of the residents, he has been attending ZETTAI-MU parties (starting from Osaka Bay Side Jenny, Umeda Noon, Nanba Rockets,Dotonbori Blue Nile, Liquidroom, Daikanyama Unit, Roppongi Yellow & Eleven, Daikanyama Air,,, and Tight, Drum&Bass Sessisons in Shinzuku&Ebisu Liquidroom, and Daikanyama Unit) His music has been vibrating from a valley to seaside, between the buildings and desk top, and by the ear. It is well over 1300 gigs and 600 parties which he experienced.The earlier masterpiece as a music creator, he is credited with (suchas) Dj spooky and DJ Vadim as the name of “MOU”, which is the pioneer Future Beat Music “ELECTLIC LADY LAND” from the well-known German’s “MILLE PLATEAUX”. Moreover, as the name of “KURANAKA”, he attended compilation of “Kyogen” with CALM, SHING02 and so on. Furthermore, as the name of “1945”, he announced the “DUBLESIGNAL” featuring ex-DRY&HEAVY’s bassist, Akimoto ”Heavy” Bushi. Under the name of “1945”, he released Mix CDs called “TIGHT
VOL.4&VOL.15” from “Entotsu Recordings”. He(and his Live CDs) amassed the sold out sales including all the titles. As a remixer, he sends deep world, dissembles and reconstructs masterpieces done by Audio Active , Rebel Familia, Original Love,
Jun-Gold (TBHR) and so on. The strong beat with the message is down to earth and very sensitive
